Summer is almost upon us once more and it’s time to get serious about long course [50metre] racing.
With the Qld Championships commencing December 9 and some outstanding performances by our swimmers behind us it will be an exciting week of racing.
Heats in the morning and finals at night sets everyone up for a big week.

HERVEY BAY SWIM MEET

Congratulations to our Teams at Hervey Bay meet and the Rackley meet on the 7th and 8th weekend 22 Gold 23 Silver and 18 Bronze and a Pool record at the Bay, followed on by 11 Gold 11 Silver 8 Bronze from the Brisbane attack. Always interesting to watch the formulation of friendships fostered in the marshaling area as our kids meet up with other teams on these swim meet occasions possibly one day turning into roommates on a touring team. Great feedback from the kids on the new squad grouping, we are looking forward to greater results because of the specializing.

OPEN WATER Q.L.D CHAMPIONSHIPS AT LAKE KAWANA

Four of our swimmers demonstrated their versatility at the recent Qld Open Water Championships – by winning 5 medals.
10 yr old Liam Cuthbertson -Silver 1.25 km
12 yr old Nolan Carrel -Bronze 1.25 km
13 yr old Kilian Carrel – Bronze 1.25 km and Silver 2.5 km
14 yr old Lauren Maguire – Silver 5.0 km

COOROY MEET

Another successful meet at Cooroy for our swimmerS following up on the recent club challenge in which all swam so well, Cooroy’s tally of 21 Gold 19 Silver and 10 Bronze with some of the events resulting in a 1 2 3 placing for our swimmers show the strength of our club and quality coaching, add to those results the enjoyment of watching our first time swimmers doing an amazing job of their racing giving us great confidence that we will always have swimmers to fill the team slots of the future.
